Location: North Birmingham (City Centre) Start Date: April 2026Hours: Monday Friday, 8:30am 3:30pm Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (March July 2026) Agency: TeacherActiveTeacherActive is working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school in North Birmingham that has a dedicated SEND Hub to support pupils with additional needs. The school is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.This role involves supporting pupils within the school s SEND Hub who are non-verbal and have Autism. Some pupils may display challenging behaviours; it is essential that candidates have previous experience working with children with Autism and complex SEND needs.The Role: • Supporting pupils within the school s SEND Hub on a 1:1 and small group basis • Working closely with pupils who are non-verbal and have Autism • Supporting pupils with their communication, emotional regulation, and engagement • Managing and responding appropriately to challenging behaviours • Working alongside the class teacher and SEND team to support learning and development • Helping to create a safe, structured, and supportive environmentThe Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Experience working with children with Autism and complex SEND needs (essential) • Experience supporting non-verbal pupils (highly desirable) • Strong behaviour management skills • A calm, patient, and resilient approach • A passion for supporting children with additional needs • A ..... full job details .....
