Are you a caring and patient Teaching Assistant who wants to make a real difference to children with special educational needs and disabilities? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking committed SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils in mainstream primary schools in Garston and the surrounding area.

About the Role
You will work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs, and learning difficulties. Depending on the placement, you may work with individual pupils, small groups or whole classes. You will:
- Provide one to one and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum
- Help to implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual support plans
- Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques in line with school policies
- Support pupils'' communication, confidence, independence and personal care where needed
- Encourage social skills and positive relationships with peers
- Work closely with teachers, parents and external professionals to support pupil progress
- Adapt quickly to new pupils, routines and school environments
About You
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting (those with relevant experience in other roles are also welcome to apply)
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, is desirable but not essential
- Right to work in the UK
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one
