Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should:

• Have a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.

• Have experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly autism, or a strong background in care and support.

• Have previous experience in an educational or care setting, supporting children or adults.

• Be confident in supporting students'' academic progress, engagement, and personal development.

• Demonstrate patience, empathy, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

• Be willing to provide personal care when required.

• Be committed to promoting an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students in the classroom.

• Support pupils with SEND to access learning activities and achieve their individual goals.

• Encourage student participation, confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.

• Supervise pupils safely both inside and outside the classroom.

• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom activities, and learning resources.

• Adapt support to meet individual students'' needs and abilities.

• Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to support students'' educational and personal development.

• Provide personal care when necessary and in line with school procedures.
