SEND Teaching Assistant

Clockwork Education have been approached by a lovely, welcoming school in Peterlee to assist them in finding a SEND teaching assistant to support them in Reception. The role is to start September 2026 and will be on an ongoing basis. 

The role is to work one to one with a child with a variety of needs and the school require someone who can commit to supporting the child on a long term basis. 

Responsibilities

• Supporting a Reception child with SEND needs  
• Extra support during lessons, with feeding and self care
• Working independently with one child
• To use own initiative and take the lead

Requirements

• Confident and experienced in working with a child on a one to one basis 
• Level 2 Qualification
• Provide 2 references, preferably from an educational background
• To hold or put in process an enhanced DBS disclosure
