The role involves providing 1:1 support for a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who is non-verbal and requires additional assistance with communication, personal care, and behavioural support. The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will: Provide dedicated 1:1 support within the Reception classroom. Support a pupil with ASD and significant communication needs. Use visual aids, communication strategies, and sensory approaches to support learning and engagement. Assist with personal care when required. Help manage challenging behaviours in a calm, positive, and consistent manner. Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
