Prospero teaching are seeking compassionate, proactive, and committed SEND Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team at a forward-thinking college in the heart of Bournville. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Post-16 learners with autism and additional needs.
About the Role:
As a SEND TA, you will work closely with students aged 16+ who have a diagnosis of autism as well as other special needs, providing 1:1 and small group support across a variety of subjects and college-based activities. You will play a vital role in helping students to access the curriculum, develop independence, and build confidence in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with autism in and out of the classroom
- Implement personalised strategies and interventions as part of EHCPs
- Foster social, emotional and academic development
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Promote independence and life skills in preparation for adulthood
Were Looking for Someone Who:
- Has experience supporting young people with autism and/or additional need
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a flexible approach
- Is confident working with post-16 learners in an educational or care setting
- Can build positive, trusting relationships with students and staff
- Holds a relevant TA qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Has a minimum of 6 months experience working in the UK
