SEND Teaching Assistant - SEMH & Behaviour Support

Aspire People are recruiting a resilient and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) within a primary setting.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can build strong relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.

The Role:
* Supporting pupils across the classroom with SEMH and behavioural needs
* Assisting with behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation
* Working with small groups to support engagement in learning
* Helping pupils develop coping strategies and positive routines
* Supporting during unstructured times such as break and lunch
* Working closely with teaching staff to maintain consistency

The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs
* Background in youth work, care, or similar roles is highly beneficial
* Calm, resilient, and confident approach
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
* Ability to build trust and positive relationships
