SEND Teacher –SEMH, Autism, ADHD and EBSA

Location: Salisbury
Start Date: September 2026 or October Half Term
Contract: Full-time
Salary: MPS–UPS + SEN Allowance (Potential TLR Available)

Are you a passionate SEND Teacher committed to supporting children and young people with a range of SEMH needs including Autism, ADHD and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and adaptable teacher to join our specialist team, working with pupils aged 7–16 years.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help children develop their learning, confidence and independence they need to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.

The Role

You will deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to each pupil''s communication needs, supporting learners from Primary through to 16. Working closely with teaching assistants, Educational Psychologists, MASH teams, families and other professionals, you''ll create an inclusive environment where every child can flourish.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).
  • Has experience supporting pupils with SEMH, particularly:
    • Autism
    • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
    • ADHD
    • Social Communication Difficulties
    • EBSA
  • Has a caring, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Builds strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
  • Delivers engaging, child-centred learning that promotes communication, confidence and independence.
  • Is creative, adaptable and committed to inclusive education.
Desirable Skills & Training

Experience or knowledge of the following would be advantageous:

  • Makaton
  • British Sign Language (BSL)
  • PECS
  • Signalong
  • AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
  • Intensive Interaction
  • Trauma informed
  • Restorative Practice 
  • Zones of Regulation
  • Visual communication strategies and sensory communication techniques
  • Working alongside Speech and Language Therapists (SaLT)
