SEND Teaching Assistant Complex Needs Location: Hackney, East LondonStart Date: ASAPContract: Full-time, Long-termPay: £90 £115 per day, depending on experienceAre you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children and young people with severe and complex learning needs?TeacherActive is recruiting a caring and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Hackney. The school supports pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including SLD, PMLD, autism, complex medical needs, physical disabilities and communication difficulties.Many pupils have limited or non-verbal communication and require highly individualised support throughout the school day.The role will involve: Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex SENDSupporting pupils with SLD, PMLD, autism and communication needsUsing alternative communication methods, including PECS, symbols, visual aids or AACSupporting sensory and engagement-based learning activitiesHelping pupils develop their communication, independence and life skillsProviding personal care and mobility support where requiredManaging behaviours calmly and positivelyWorking closely with teachers, therapists and other SEND professionalsFollowing individual EHCPs, behaviour plans and care plans We are looking for someone who: Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND or complex needsIs patient, compassionate and resilientIs comfortable supporting pupils with ..... full job details .....
