SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH, Autism, Trauma and Behaviour We are looking for a caring, resilient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), autism, trauma and behaviours that may present as challenging. The successful candidate will be passionate about helping children feel safe, understood and able to engage in learning. You will work closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals to provide consistent, individualised support and help pupils develop both academically and emotionally. The role will involve: Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs. Supporting children with SEMH, autism and trauma-related needs. Helping pupils regulate their emotions and develop positive coping strategies. Building trusting, respectful relationships with children and young people. Supporting positive behaviour and following individual behaviour and support plans. Helping pupils access learning and participate positively in school life. Using a calm, patient and consistent approach when responding to challenging behaviour. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals. Maintaining appropriate safeguarding and professional boundaries. Encouraging pupils'' confidence, independence and social development.
