Supply SEND Support Assistant
Location: Wakefield
Contract: Full Time (Term Time Only)

We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Supply SEND Support Assistant to support children primary age in a pupil referral unit setting in the Wakefield area. In this vital role, you will work closely with pupils experiencing a variety of Special Educational Needs, including communication challenges, behavioural difficulties, and social or emotional needs, providing both individualized and small-group support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver focused one-to-one and group interventions to support pupils with SEND.
• Adapt and differentiate lesson materials to align with individual learning needs.
• Cultivate a warm, inclusive environment that boosts pupils’ confidence and engagement.
• Track pupil progress and participate in communication with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistency and continuity of support.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

• Has experience working with young people with SEND, ideally in educational or alternative provision settings.
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and flexibility in working with diverse needs.
• Communicates clearly and works well within a team environment.
• Holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred).
• (Desirable) Possesses a Level 2 (or higher) TA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Team Teach is desirable, but not essential.
