About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Primary Teacher to join our team in Widnes, working with small groups of pupils who present behavioural, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), and SEND needs. The successful candidate will deliver tailored Maths and English curriculum sessions designed to support pupils who require additional structure, support, and positive behavioural guidance.
This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and making a meaningful difference to pupils who may find mainstream classroom environments challenging.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Maths and English lessons to small groups of primary-aged pupils.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs and EHCP targets where applicable.
- Manage and respond effectively to challenging behaviour, maintaining clear boundaries and a calm, consistent approach.
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and wider professionals to implement effective intervention strategies.
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of pupil achievement and behaviour.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Have experience working with pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, or SEND.
- Be confident in managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
- Have strong knowledge of the Primary Maths and English curriculum.
- Be patient, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils who require additional guidance and structure.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
