SEND Science Tutor - EOTAS Year 9 Student Location: WokinghamSubject: SciencePhase: Year 9 / SEND / EOTASWorking Arrangement: In-personHours: 2-3 hours per week, ongoing for the full school year Quantum Scholars are looking for a patient, flexible and experienced SEND Science Tutor to provide ongoing one-to-one Science tuition to a Year 9 boy accessing EOTAS provision. The successful tutor will support the student with his Science learning throughout the full school year, helping him to build confidence, develop his subject knowledge and make progress towards his educational goals. The student has dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD and demand-avoidant tendencies, so it is important that the tutor is able to take a flexible, low-pressure and individualised approach to learning. He responds well to having a sense of autonomy, so allowing him to make choices about where to begin and incorporating his interests into sessions will be particularly important. The initial focus is likely to include Biology, although the tutor should be prepared to follow the student''s interests and adapt the content according to his engagement and needs. He has also experienced some medical trauma in the past, so a sensitive and reassuring approach is important. He is comfortable with most Biology-related topics. This is an in-person tutoring role and is not online work.
