SEND Officer
Rate: £300 per day (Inside IR35, via umbrella)Contract: Initial 3-month contractWorking Pattern: Hybrid initially, with the opportunity to work predominantly remotely as the project progressesStart Date: ASAPAbout the RoleAn experienced SEND Officer is required to support a Local Authority on an exciting project implementing a new needs-led funding model for children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).Working as part of a dedicated project team, you will review EHCPs, assess identified needs and provision, and quality assure funding decisions as part of the transition to a new software system. This is a project-focused position and does not involve statutory SEND casework or responsibility for managing EHCP caseloads.Key ResponsibilitiesReview Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to assess identified needs and provision.Quality assure funding decisions in line with a new needs-led funding model.Apply consistent, evidence-based decision-making against agreed criteria.Support the implementation of a new SEND funding system and associated processes.Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure successful project delivery.Liaise with schools and educational settings where required.Complete work accurately and within agreed timescales.Contribute to the successful rollout of the new funding model across the service.Key RequirementsProven experience working within SEND and the EHCP process.Strong understanding of the educational needs of children ..... full job details .....
