SEN Teaching Assistant

Location:- campuses across Enfield and Edmonton (you will only be based at one site)
Start Date:-ASAP-
Daily Rate:105 per day
Contract Type:-Long-term, temp to perm, full-time

An outstanding and highly respected SEN Trust with multiple campuses across Enfield and Edmonton is seeking a committed and enthusiastic-SEN Teaching Assistant-to join their team. This is a full-time role supporting students-with Autism Spectrum Condition and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Key stage preference can be accomodated (operating from EYFS to Further Education).

About the Role:

You will be joining a dedicated team within a specialist provision, helping to create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment for students with complex needs. The trust is well-regarded for its inclusive approach, exceptional leadership, and commitment to staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with autism and SEMH needs
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
  • Help maintain a structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to support each student''s individual education plan (IEP)
  • Contribute to daily routines, enrichment activities, and school events
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASC and/or SEMH
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Calm, resilient, and patient nature
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and follow direction
  • Willingness to learn and engage with training opportunities
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
