The child has a Visual Impairment and Autism, and is also learning English as a second language. They have been out of education for some time, so the main aim of the role is to help them rebuild confidence, develop basic English and life skills, and prepare for a future placement in an SEND school. This is a gentle, relationship-based role where consistency, patience and understanding will be very important. The successful person will be able to create a calm and supportive learning environment, using simple activities to support communication, routine, independence and engagement.
