SEND Class Teacher
Empowering Learning are recruiting a SEND Class Teacher to work in a special needs school in the Nottinghamshire. Experience working in a school setting and experience with SEND pupils is a must. QTS or QTLS is preferred but not essential, as attitude and personality are absolutely key. The ability to teach across the primary curriculum and the knowledge of sensory learning is essential also.The ideal candidate will:Class teacher experience (particularly in SEND)Have the ability to teach EYFS/primary age pupils.Be highly organised with excellent communication skillsHave a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgroundsHave excellent behaviour management skillsUnderstand the expectations against the Teachers Standards.Main Responsibilities:Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning.Supporting SEND children with their work in a class settingManaging difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policySafeguarding vulnerable pupilsPossible supervising on lunch and break timesSupporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroomBuilding relationships with staff and pupilsCollecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessmentsFeedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progressTo have pastoral responsibility for a group of pupilsPotentially lead in a subject areaEnsure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carersBenefits of working with ..... full job details .....
