Are you a passionate and experienced SEN professional looking for a leadership role in an inclusive and supportive school setting£ We are seeking a dedicated SENCO to join a well-resourced and welcoming school in Milton Keynes, starting September 2025.
This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children with a range of additional needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). You will lead and develop the SEN provision, working alongside a skilled and committed team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the SEN provision across the school, ensuring effective strategies and interventions.
Coordinate and review Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), working closely with teachers, therapists, and external agencies.
Provide guidance and training to staff, especially around PMLD support.
Oversee assessment using frameworks such as P Levels, the Engagement Model, and other SEN-specific tools.
Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and professionals to support holistic development.
Ensure high standards of safeguarding, inclusion, and well-being for all pupils with SEND.
Support teaching and model outstanding SEN practice where needed.
Contribute to the strategic development of SEN provision across the school.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Ideally, the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO), or willingness to work towards it.
Experience working with pupils with PMLD or other complex needs.
In-depth understanding of SEN policy, legislation, and effective intervention strategies.
