SENCo - Role Purpose Lead, develop, and drive inclusive practice across the school Oversee the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and provision Coordinate assessment, planning, and review for pupils with SEN, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) Work closely with staff, parents/carers, external agencies, and the local authority to ensure that the needs of pupils are met Monitor the progress of pupils with SEN and evaluate the effectiveness of provision and interventions Provide professional guidance, training, and support to staff on SEND matters Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop or refine the school''s SEND policy; contribute to school self-evaluation and improvement planning Operational Management: Maintain and monitor the SEN register; ensure all statutory duties are met; manage budgets / resources for SEN Liaison and Collaboration: Work with therapists, psychologists, health and social care agencies; ensure smooth transitions for pupils moving into or out of the school Monitoring and Reporting: Track pupil progress; produce reports; attend review and annual EHCP meetings Staff Development: Train and support staff in inclusive teaching, differentiated planning, behaviour strategies, and pastoral support Person Specification ..... full job details .....
