SEN Tutor - Secondary PRUs & Alternative Provisions
Location: Manchester
Pay: -92.56 - -120.00 per day
Start date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time and part-time available

Premier Education are currently working in partnership with a range of secondary PRUs and alternative provisions across Manchester who are looking for SEND Tutors to start in September.
You will be working with small groups of pupils aged 11-25, depending on your experience and the setting. The role focuses on supporting learning, emotional regulation, and life skills, with opportunities to work across both academic and vocational pathways.
These settings support pupils with a range of needs including SEMH, ASC, behavioural challenges, and additional complex needs. This role is particularly well-suited to Psychology graduates or those looking to build experience in mental health, youth work, or specialist education.
You will be expected to support, plan, and deliver sessions tailored to individual needs, helping young people re-engage with education and progress both academically and personally.
The provisions have supportive staff teams and strong behaviour management structures in place, with additional support staff available in all classrooms.
Responsibilities
- Supporting a specific age group or provision depending on your experience
- Planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and inclusive sessions
- Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs
- Creating a positive and structured learning environment
- Working collaboratively with staff, external professionals, and families
- Participating in staff meetings, CPD, and wider school life
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH / SEN needs
- A strong interest in mental health, behaviour support, or SEND
- Ideal for Psychology graduates or similar backgrounds
- Ability to build positive relationships and remain calm under pressure
- Comfortable supporting students with additional needs (personal care may be required in some settings)
- Able to provide 2 references covering the last 2 years
- Relevant training or qualifications (desirable but not essential depending on experience)
Pay
-92.56 - -120.00 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
