About the Role
You''ll be working with learners who may have:
- Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Experienced exclusion from school
- Struggled with anxiety, bullying, or medical conditions
- Be Looked After Children (LAC)
Location & Schedule
- Sessions take place in a variety of settings
- Flexible hours available: 2-15 hours per week, typically during school hours
- Opportunities to combine multiple sessions across different young people
Your role will involve:
- Delivering personalised tutoring sessions in core subjects (Maths, English, Science)
- Building trust and rapport through engaging activities before introducing structured learning
- Identifying gaps in knowledge and tailoring lessons to suit individual needs
- Supporting emotional well being and confidence through mentoring
About you:
- Minimum 1 year of experience supporting young people in a UK educational setting
- Experience of working with learners with additional needs
- A calm, nurturing and positive demeanour
- Ability to provide relevant references
- Passionate, reliable, and creative in your approach
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
- Experience of working with learners with additional needs- ESSENTIAL
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
