Prospero Teaching are looking for a compassionate and experienced SEN Tutor to support a young person in Liphook who is preparing to enter Year 9. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a learner who has faced significant challenges in accessing education. This position is for 12 hours per week, but we can offer additional tuitions to increase this.
About the Learner:
- Recently relocated to the area
- Has an EHCP and a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Experiences Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and anxiety
- Has missed substantial learning time and is currently working below age-related expectations in English and Maths
- Interests include animals, making collages, and building dens
- Finds Maths and meeting new people particularly challenging
As a Tutor you will:
- Deliver engaging and individualised tuition in English and Maths
- Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the learner
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the learner''s specific needs and pace
- Encourage confidence, independence, and a love of learning
About you:
- Has experience working with learners with ASD, EBSA, anxiety, or trauma
- Can deliver creative, engaging, and confidence-building sessions in English and Maths
- Is patient, empathetic, and skilled at building trust and rapport over time
- Can adapt their approach to suit the learner''s pace and emotional needs

Hours - 12 Hours per week- for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time.
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
