About the Role:

Prospero Teaching are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at a specialist school in Harborne. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children and young people aged 11 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of associated needs including communication difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and developmental delays.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in making a lasting difference in the lives of neurodivergent learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
• Support students with their personal, social, and emotional development
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to implement EHCPs
• Assist with daily classroom activities, structured routines, and transitions
• Create an inclusive, respectful and safe learning environment
• Promote independence and life skills where appropriate

We are Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience working with children or young people with SEND (particularly ASD)
• Is calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
• Can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Holds an enhanced DBS check (or is willing to obtain one)

Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning)
