SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant needed for a Reception class in BlackburnWe''re currently working with a primary school who need an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant. This position involves working 1:1 with a non-verbal child with additional needs. We''re looking for someone patient, calm, and confident with challenging behaviour and personal care.About the role:You''ll be supporting a child in Reception who needs one-to-one support. Your day-to-day will include:One-to-one support throughout lessons and playtimeHelping to implement communication strategies (e.g., visuals, Makaton, PECS)Providing personal care (including toileting)Supporting with emotional regulation and managing behavioursWorking closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionalsWho we''re looking for:Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)At least 6 months of experience in a similar role within a school settingConfidence in working with children with SEND and communication needsA calm and positive attitude when supporting children with challenging behaviourA genuine passion for helping children thrive in the early yearsBonus if you have:Experience with the EYFS curriculumKnowledge of non-verbal communication toolsA current enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)Why work on supply with Veritas?Flexible work - choose the days you want to workLocal placements - work in schools close to homeBuild experience - gain exposure to a variety of year groups, teaching styles, and ..... full job details .....
