Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a mainstream primary school?
We are recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary schools. These roles offer flexibility to work across different year groups, supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs and helping them to achieve their full potential.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions to support pupils'' academic, social, and emotional development.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and promote inclusion.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and engagement.
- Support teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Help manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies.
- De-escalate situations calmly and effectively, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
- Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals to implement support plans and monitor progress.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience supporting children with SEN within a primary school setting.
- Be confident delivering interventions to individuals and small groups.
- Have experience managing challenging behaviour and using effective de-escalation techniques.
- Be calm, patient, and resilient, with a positive approach to supporting pupils.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be passionate about helping every child succeed both academically and personally.
