Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and therapists to provide tailored support to pupils aged 7-16 years. You will help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that enables every student to reach their full potential, both academically and personally.
This rewarding role requires patience, resilience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people with a wide range of additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students in the classroom and during wider school activities.
- Assist with implementing individual learning and behaviour support plans.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Encourage student engagement, independence, and confidence.
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers.
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
- Previous experience working with children, young people, or adults with SEN is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
