Sen Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist primary setting in Andover. This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children with SEMH or SEN needs, or those with a strong background in mainstream schools who are looking to transition into a more specialised and rewarding environment. About the Setting The school is a specialist provision for primary-aged pupils who require additional support with their social, emotional and mental health needs. The setting is designed to provide a structured, nurturing and highly supportive environment where pupils can feel safe, understood and ready to learn. The curriculum is adapted to meet individual needs, combining academic learning with a strong focus on emotional development, communication skills and positive behaviour strategies. Class sizes are small, allowing for a more personalised approach, and there is a strong emphasis on building trust, routine and consistency throughout the school day. Staff work collaboratively to create a calm and predictable environment, using clear boundaries alongside encouragement and positive reinforcement. The aim is to help pupils develop resilience, confidence and the skills needed to successfully access learning and manage their emotions.
