Salary: £90 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an independent specialist school in Birmingham supporting autistic pupils aged 7-17. The school provides a calm and structured environment where pupils can feel safe, understood and ready to re-engage with learning, with a strong focus on building confidence and positive relationships.

The school is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Teaching Assistant will support pupils in the classroom, help them access learning and provide consistent support around their individual needs, including anxiety, sensory challenges and barriers to engagement.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND

• Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASD

• An understanding of anxiety, sensory needs and barriers to learning

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• The ability to remain calm, patient and consistent when supporting pupils

• A resilient, caring and adaptable approach
