TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Matlock, recently graded Outstanding by OFSTED, to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. The school has a strong inclusive ethos and is committed to providing every child with the support they need to achieve their full potential within a nurturing learning environment.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from September through to July 2027. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a non-verbal Year 1 pupil, helping to promote communication, engagement and independence while working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver tailored support throughout the school day.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within a primary school setting
• Experience working with non-verbal children on a 1:1 basis
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting learning and development
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
• A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
