Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND Support Staff
Location: Wakefield
Start Date: Immediate Start
Salary: £90 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a number of mainstream primary schools across Wakefield and the surrounding areas. We are looking for experienced SEND Support Staff to work with pupils who require additional support to access learning and thrive within a mainstream school environment.

We have day-to-day and longer-term opportunities available across KS1 and KS2. Roles may include supporting individual pupils on a 1:1 basis, delivering small-group interventions or providing additional support within the classroom.

As SEND Support Staff, you may work with pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism/ASC, ADHD, communication difficulties and social, emotional or behavioural needs. You will work closely with class teachers and school SEND teams to provide consistent and individualised support.

The successful SEND Support Staff will have:

• At least 6 months'' experience supporting children with SEND
• Experience working with primary-aged pupils
• Knowledge or experience of supporting needs such as Autism/ASC and ADHD
• Confidence providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• A calm, patient and consistent approach
• A commitment to safeguarding and supporting pupil wellbeing
