About the role and school

Teach Plus are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Brent who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for an ASAP start.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and make positive academic, social and emotional progress.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide consistent and effective support. The role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and is able to build positive relationships with children.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a full-time position within a supportive Brent primary school.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils to access the curriculum and complete learning activities.
• Assist pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Implement strategies outlined within support plans and EHCPs.
• Encourage independence and positive classroom behaviour.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Build strong and positive relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities.
• Maintain safeguarding and professional standards at all times.

Qualifications/Experience

• Previous UK school experience is essential.
• Experience supporting children with SEND is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD or behavioural needs would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Valid DBS on the Update Service is required.
