Are you an empathetic and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work in a supportive school environment?
GSL Education are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis in schools in Thurnscoe. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs, while enjoying the flexibility of supply work.
Role Overview:
As a SEN TA, you will support students with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will assist teachers in delivering inclusive lessons and offer one-to-one or small group support to ensure every child can access the curriculum.
Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Support the development of pupils’ confidence, independence, and social skills.
- Help manage behaviour and ensure pupils feel safe and engaged.
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in education or care settings).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing needs throughout the day.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps in the last 10 years.
