Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and promoting inclusive learning£ A welcoming and diverse primary school in Eastbourne is seeking an experienced and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis starting in September 2025.
This role offers the chance to support students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping to provide tailored support to meet each childandrsquo;s individual needs. Whether you''re experienced in SEN support or looking to build your expertise, this position is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEN in the classroom, working closely with the class teacher to implement personalised strategies and scaffolding to aid their learning and development.
- Provide individual and small group support, promoting engagement and progress across the curriculum.
- Assist in creating an inclusive classroom environment, ensuring all pupils feel valued and supported in their learning journey.
- Support regulation strategies, helping pupils develop emotional and behavioural regulation within the classroom.
- Help with the preparation of learning resources tailored to the specific needs of the pupils, ensuring accessibility and differentiation.
- Support students with communication challenges, ensuring they can effectively express themselves and access the curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with staff to create and implement individualised learning plans.
What Weandrsquo;re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school setting or with other relevant experience.
- Knowledge of EHCPs, inclusion practices, and strategies for differentiation and scaffolding support.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- A positive, proactive attitude, with a commitment to promoting inclusion and empowering students to succeed.
- Ability to provide emotional support and foster self-regulation in pupils.
- A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
