About the Role
An inclusive and nurturing village primary school in Winslow is seeking a passionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This role involves providing tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils across Key Stage 2 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
You will play a vital role in facilitating access to the curriculum for children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), including those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), and other additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver targeted and evidence-based interventions to support pupils with SEND
Assist in implementing and monitoring individual learning plans (ILPs) and EHCP targets
Employ a variety of inclusive teaching strategies, including visual supports, sensory tools, and behaviour management techniques
Collaborate closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, and external specialists to optimise pupil progress
Support emotional regulation and foster positive social interactions within the classroom environment
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to review meetings
Person Specification
Experience supporting children with SEND in educational or similar settings
Understanding of key SEND conditions including Autism, ADHD, and SLCN
Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach with strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential
