They are looking for strong, experienced Teaching Assistants who will not simply do the bare minimum, but will go above and beyond to make a genuine difference to the lives of these children.
The SEN Teaching Assistant role:
- Supporting students with severe autism and complex needs
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support
- Helping students develop their communication, social and life skills
- Supporting with sensory activities and creative learning
- Managing challenging behaviour calmly and confidently
- Providing personal care when required
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant candidate:
- Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- Is active, energetic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Is confident supporting challenging behaviour
- Is patient, resilient and caring
- Is reliable and committed to the role
- Is willing to go above and beyond for the students
- Has a genuine passion for making a difference
