SEN Teaching Assistant Annual Salary: Competitive Location: Lowestoft Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a local primary school. This full-time role involves providing tailored support to a child diagnosed with Down Syndrome. The ideal candidate will have experience in special educational needs (SEN) and possess Manual Handling training. Day-to-day of the role: Provide one-to-one support to a child with Down Syndrome, ensuring they engage effectively in lessons and school activities. Implement personalised learning plans developed in collaboration with the SENCO and other educational professionals. Assist in the development of social skills and independence in a school setting. Use Manual Handling techniques to assist the child with mobility and daily activities safely. Monitor and report on the child''s progress to teachers and parents. Adapt communication and learning materials to meet the child''s needs. Maintain a safe, nurturing environment that promotes learning and development. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with children with special educational needs. Manual Handling training and experience, specifically in an educational or care setting. Understanding of the challenges faced by children with Down Syndrome.
