The Position - SEN Teaching Assistant
A welcoming primary school in Lambeth is seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. You will be working within the school''s well-established ASD unit, supporting a small group of approximately 6-10 pupils. Most pupils within the provision are non-verbal and require additional support with communication, learning, sensory regulation and independence.You will work alongside an experienced class teacher and two other Teaching Assistants to create a calm, structured and positive learning environment. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide both individual and small-group support, helping pupils engage with activities and develop their confidence and independence. Experience using Makaton, PECS or other ASD-specific approaches would be highly desirable. However, candidates with strong SEN experience and knowledge of alternative communication strategies will also be considered.
