SEN Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is working alongside an Ofsted-rated Outstanding secondary school that is seeking a resilient and experienced individual to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a male student in Year 8 with severe Autism (ASD).This role would suit someone who thrives in a specialist SEN environment and has experience supporting children with complex communication, behavioural, and sensory needs.The RoleYou will work closely with one student throughout the school day, providing consistent support to help them access learning, regulate emotions, and engage positively within the school setting.The student can experience periods of dysregulation and heightened anxiety which may occasionally result in challenging behaviours. Therefore, the successful candidate must remain calm, professional, and consistent while following the school''s behaviour support strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesProviding dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.Supporting a student with severe Autism (ASD).Implementing agreed behaviour and support plans.Helping the student access lessons and learning opportunities.Building a positive and trusting relationship with the student.Managing challenging situations using a calm and consistent approach.Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and parents where appropriate.Completing detailed daily reports on behaviour, progress, and key observations.Promoting emotional regulation, independence, and engagement.What We''re Looking ForThe ..... full job details .....
