SEN Teaching assistant

We are currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Gloucester, supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs. These roles offer the opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils who may require additional support to access learning, manage their behaviour and develop their confidence and independence.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you could be providing 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning to suit individual needs. You may work with pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural difficulties, speech and language needs and complex learning needs, helping them to engage positively with education and build strong relationships with staff and peers.

The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient and adaptable, with the ability to build trusting relationships while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries. Previous SEN experience is highly desirable, particularly within specialist, SEMH or behavioural settings, although candidates with relevant transferable experience will also be considered. These positions can offer both long-term and ongoing opportunities, depending on the needs of the school.
