Pay: -14.25 - -16.68 per hour
SEN Teaching Assistant Required in Weston-super-Mare
Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Weston-super-Mare that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential within the classroom environment.
The Role
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, and SEMH.
- Delivering tailored interventions and learning activities under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Building positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
- Promoting inclusion and supporting pupils both academically and socially.
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies where required.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- Experience within education, care, youth work, or support work backgrounds will be considered.

Essential Requirements
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
