SEN Teaching assistant

Prospero Teaching are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Swindon. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience supporting children and young people with SEN, behavioural or additional needs, or for someone with a background in care, support work or youth work looking to develop their career in education.The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills. You may support pupils with needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour, so patience, resilience and the ability to build strong relationships are essential.Key responsibilities:Providing one-to-one and small-group SEN supportSupporting pupils with their learning and developmentHelping pupils manage emotional and behavioural challengesBuilding positive and trusting relationships with pupilsSupporting positive behaviour and emotional regulationAdapting activities to meet individual needsWorking closely with teachers and the SEN teamEncouraging confidence, independence and engagementCreating a calm, safe and inclusive learning environmentIdeal candidate:Previous SEN experience is highly desirableExperience with SEMH, Autism, ADHD or behavioural needs is beneficialPatient, empathetic and resilientConfident managing challenging situationsStrong communication and relationship-building ..... full job details .....
