SEN Teaching Assistant
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport pupils with a range of additional learning needs (including ASD, ADHD, MLD, SLD, and complex needs)Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions under the direction of the class teacherAssist in implementing Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and behaviour support plansPromote positive behaviour and support emotional regulation using appropriate strategiesAdapt learning materials to meet individual pupil needsSupport pupils with personal care where required (training provided if applicable)Encourage independence, communication, and social developmentWork collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionalsMaintain accurate observations and contribute to pupil progress recordsPerson SpecificationEssential:Experience working with children or young people (school, care, youth work, or similar)Understanding of SEN and inclusive education practicesPatience, empathy, and a calm approach under pressureStrong communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to safeguarding and child welfareDesirable:Experience in a SEN school or specialist settingTraining in Team Teach, Positive Behaviour Support, or similar approachesKnowledge of ASD, speech and language needs, or complex learning difficultiesRelevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or ..... full job details .....
