About the Role
Long Term Futures are working with a welcoming primary school in Westminster to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant for an immediate start.
This is a varied role combining general classroom responsibilities with targeted SEN support. You will work alongside the class teacher to support learning across the classroom while also providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
The position would suit someone who enjoys the variety of a general Teaching Assistant role but also has the confidence and experience to provide more individualised support when required.
Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom
• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
• Delivering targeted literacy, numeracy and communication interventions
• Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs or learning difficulties
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive engagement
• Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation where required
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor pupil progress
• Preparing resources and assisting with general classroom activities

The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with primary-aged children
• Has experience or a strong interest in supporting pupils with SEN
• Is confident working both 1:1 and with larger groups
• Is proactive and able to identify where support is needed
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills
• Is reliable, patient and enthusiastic
