Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a welcoming primary school in Bury (Radcliffe).

This rewarding role will involve supporting children who require additional help accessing the curriculum. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and the school''s SEN team to provide targeted support that encourages both academic progress and emotional development.

You may work with pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them stay engaged in lessons and supporting them with strategies to overcome learning barriers. The role requires patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs

  • Assisting the teacher in delivering adapted learning activities

  • Encouraging pupil participation and confidence

  • Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children with SEN (desirable but not essential)

  • Be calm, patient, and nurturing

  • Be able to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff

  • Be committed to helping pupils achieve positive outcomes
