We''re working with a mainstream primary school in Smethwick to find a compassionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
You''ll work closely with a pupil who requires tailored, consistent support throughout the school day. This role is ideal for someone who thrives when making a direct impact and building meaningful relationships with children who need that extra bit of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, including autism and/or speech & language needs
- Support learning across all subjects, adapting materials to suit individual needs
- Help with emotional regulation and social development
- Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adjust support strategies
- Ensure the pupil feels included, safe, and encouraged every day
We''re Looking For:
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting
- Confident working 1:1 with pupils with additional needs
- Patient, calm, and empathetic approach to learning and behaviour
- Able to follow direction while also using initiative
