SEN Teaching Assistant
We are partnered with a school seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team, working with children who have social, emotional and mental health needs. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable pupils who require specialist support and understanding.
The Role:
You will provide essential support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their emotions, develop coping strategies, and engage with learning. You''ll work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals to create a supportive environment where pupils can build resilience and achieve their potential.
Candidate Profile:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs
- Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation techniques
- Patience, resilience and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with challenging pupils
- Good communication skills with pupils, staff and parents
- Relevant qualifications in behaviour support or mental health would be beneficial
- Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children
