Responsibilities
- Work as an SEN Teaching Assistant providing 1:1 support for a child with SEN and behavioural needs.
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour, using positive handling approaches where appropriate.
- Support the pupil''s learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
- Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals to follow individual support plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with SEN/SEMH.
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour and using de-escalation techniques.
- Training in positive handling, Team Teach, MAPA or similar is desirable.
- A patient, calm, and consistent approach.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
