Role Overview:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you’ll work closely with teachers and SENCOs to support students with a range of special educational needs. You’ll provide tailored assistance, foster a positive learning atmosphere, and help students overcome barriers to learning.
Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
- Support students with special educational needs in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering differentiated and inclusive lessons.
- Help manage behaviour and promote positive social interactions.
- Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents.
- Promote a safe and supportive learning environment.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
- Ability to provide a ten-year career history with references covering the last two years, including your most recent educational role.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
