SEN Teaching Assistant

• Job role: SEN Teaching Assistant
• Start date: Immediately
• Location: Southwark – very good transport links
• Pay: £97-110 p/day, depending on experience
• Schedule: Monday-Friday. Term-time only (no weekend)

Join a friendly SEN Primary School adopting a learn-through-play approach! Early Years experience is key, but we also welcome personal experience, fresh graduates, or those passionate about starting a career in an SEN School. Long-term role with chance to go permanent.

About the Role:

• Supporting pupils with Autism and learning difficulties
• Working with small class sizes and occasional 1:1 to encourage progress through play-based learning
• Promoting social interaction, communication, independence, and confidence
• Assisting the class teacher with engaging activities that spark curiosity and discovery
• Helping children regulate emotions and feel safe in their learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

• EYFS experience is essential, with a good understanding of early development stages
• People with personal SEN experience, fresh graduates, or those with a passion for supporting children and looking for their first step into education are warmly welcomed to apply
• Warm-natured, patient, and enthusiastic – able to turn learning into play
• Comfortable working 1:1 and in small classes
• Open to learning new strategies and approaches, with full training provided
