About the Role
We are seeking dedicated, compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to work with children and young people who have additional learning needs and, at times, display challenging behaviour.
This role is well-suited to those with experience as:
- Personal Care Assistants
- Care Workers
- Youth Workers
- Or anyone with a background in supporting children or vulnerable adults who would like to bring their skills into education.
You will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to support students in the classroom and during wider school activities, ensuring that they feel safe, supported, and able to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to children with SEN and/or behavioural needs in both individual and group settings.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering learning activities that meet students’ individual needs.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support with personal care, life skills, and emotional regulation where required.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff, adapting support strategies as needed.
- Engage in activities both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all students.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children, young people, or vulnerable adults (school experience is welcome but not essential).
- A passion for helping children with SEN to succeed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience.
- A positive, caring and proactive attitude.
